Events Friday, July 31, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Live interview with Joan Bryden
I had the pleasure of being interviewed live on WPCR Radio by Joan Bryden. The interview covered a variety of topics from how I became interested in writing, my three novels, and how I go about the business of writing. Joan also touched on the specific topic of my current novel and asked about the challenge of including a difficult topic, like child pornography, in a novel. We touched on the proliferation of cameras in our society and how technology is making it easier for perpetrators to invade our personal space.
You can listen to the entire interview by clicking on the link below. I know you'll enjoy the discussion as Joan and I talk about the business of writing and publishing.
The WPCR remote studio is on the second floor of the Book Exchange in downtown Port Clinton, Ohio. |

Wednesday, March 11, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM New Bremen Coffee Shop and Books, Inc. 107 West Monroe Street New Bremen, Ohio 45869 Shelly and the Gang at the New Bremen Coffee Shop and Books didn't pull any punches. From 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, we talked about A Lifetime of Deception. They asked about the protagonists, the McKinney Brothers; where they came from, where they're going. They asked a host of other great questions and made some keen observations about the story, the plot, and their future adventures. Their insights and detailed recollections of scenes in A Lifetime of Deception kept me on my toes. They did soften me up with a spread of fresh fruit, cheese rolls, punch, chips and crackers, cookies, and, of course, great coffee. If you're in western Ohio near exit 102, take a quick 12 mile jog west to the town of New Bremen. I know you'll be as impressed as I am with this beautiful small town. When you're there, be sure to stop in at the New Bremen Coffee Shop and Books. Say "Hi" to Shelly and the gang. Get some great coffee, snacks, and pick up a book. They have a great selection from which to choose. Tell them I sent you.
The Gang, the Coffee, and of course, the books at The New Bremen Coffee Shop and Books. |

Saturday, August 30, 2008, From 12:00 Noon - 2:00 pm The Book Exchange 117 E . Second Street Port Clinton, Ohio 44870 Authors Mandy Roth, Terri Lynn, Tom Schafer, and P. J. Grondin spent the day signing books, exchanging stories, listening to live music by Stik, and eating some of the best brownies on earth (from the Second Street Diner). The book signing event was sponsored by Annette and Mike Fitzgerald, owners of the Book Exchange in Port Clinton, Ohio. The event coincided with the Port Clinton's Perch, Peach, Polka, and Pierogie Festival. It was a great day with lots of fun and laughs.
Saturday, September 6, 2008, From 1:00 - 3:00 PM Borders Books and Music 335 Howe Avenue Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221 The Book Signing at Borders in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, went very well. I met some folks whose son lives in Casselberry, Florida which borders Maitland where I lived when we first moved to Florida in the late 1960s. At that time State Route 436 had just been widened from two lanes to four from Altamonte Springs to the Orlando International Airport, then called McCoy Airport. Orlando was starting to grow faster than their ability to keep up with the growth. It was interesting because a major part of A Lifetime of Vengeance takes place just north of Casselberry around Altamonte Springs and Apopka. The fall event schedule was full indeed. Pete held successful book signing events at Borders Books and Music stores throughout Ohio. Pete is in the process of lining up more events so check back often. P. J.
